Fishing in the Poconos
The
Poconos offer a great fishing experience.
In the mountains, anglers can reel in all types of fish.
The Delaware river, just a few miles from the Poconos,
is a popular fishing destination for many. Other popular
fishing destinations are only miles away.
The Delaware River contains shad, walleye,
trout, and bass. A fishing license is required and can
be obtained at most of the local fish and bait shops in
the area. There are some private fishing areas were a
fishing license is not required. Make sure you check out
the Pennsylvania Fishing Museum in the Poconos. It has
memorabilia and fishing equipment from the 1800s

To Fish in and around the Pocono
mountains of Pennsylvania anyone 16 years and older
must have a fishing licenses. Fish Licenses can be purchased
at most major bait and tackle shops as well as the Pennsylvania
Fish and Game Commission.
